What? is it valentine's in france?!

these few days whenever i turn left turn right turn centre turn backwards I willmost definitely find a nymphet..... uh... i mean... ill find some boy clearly 5 years younger than me making out with some fat girl. I mean hello!!??! Choices?

haha ok its not about fat people suddenly becoming the trend in teenage relationships (any of u noticed it?) but its more on little children having wayy too much tingling feelings at the top of their... head. or below. :p

Its so sad.. im stil single... a coming 19 soon in about... 6 months. :(

but when your hobby is something that you get tested on in school and every ounce of energy you spend in school is transformed to positive knowledge and excitement, WHO CARES?!!?

I LOVE SCHOOL!

I LOVE FILM AND MEDIA STUDIES!

I mean to be honest... all my life before this has been built up as if it was MEANT to serve well in theis course. I mean O levels look like one of those things i didnt need at all! Im not doing maths. Im not doing science. Im doing nuts! I didnt even take history and here i am studying film history!

i read like hell about WW2... land sea and air... then i studied the colour wheel and played with oil paints and acryclics and superglue with flour when i had Bernard Cher as my scale modelling mentor..... then i havent watch Tv (singapore tv, at least) for about two years now and from what i've been hearing about Channel 5 and their progs now..... little pollution to my brain! (arogant post. Beware.)

You know, film history class has been a blast all these while. Seriously. A HUGE FART BOMB BLAST! It stinks for some but my my my!!!!!!! I love the SMELL! In this class we get down to the roots of film. Did you know that cinema is like... what.. only a hundred and ten years old? THe first film made is still screenable today. Btw it's made by the Lumiere Brothers and yeah you can find it on Youtube... surprisingly. I also found Joshua Ang clips and i cant stop thinking that Josh, his best buddy and Clara are good friends. I got this assignment from my fav art teacher/lecturer in my entire life, Miss Wendy Wee, who teaches Animation (like... Anime... but her students produces Hentai...lol) and Film History, which had me do a research on this Russian director named Vsevolod Pudovkin and oh my oh my oh my. She just had to say, " You're lucky. This guys is pretty interesting....and the hardest."

Like i soon found out because you know how Russians are with their secret language that everybody seems to have difficulty translating their text... i cant get anything long but substantial on him! But this is GREAT! Cos what i gathered was that like all the other Russians in the 1920-1950s era... they were BLOODY patriotic. Is it me or are the communist citizens much more loyal to their motherland? So his films were plenty of propaganda with World War 1 as the background and you know me... i'm a world war TWO buff... i read anything that relates to it and World War One was really the start of World War Two because the outcome of WW1 gave rise to the evil hatred of Hitler and the Versailles Treaty and the resentment for failure for the Russians.... and the complacency of the British yeah so that's why they sucked in WW2. (damn you cowardly brit soldiers! You made my country sound like TOMATO for three years!)

History + World War Two + Old Films + a director that shares my view on editing techniques = a VERY happy and COMPETANT me. Im looking high and low for Pudovkin's film that was made in 1926 entitled "Mother".

dang... it just HAS to be titled as such.

enuf yada yada. I still have 2000 words to go!

I DARE you guys to read this:

MY handwriting has been the worst part of my academic elements since i was born. When i was so young that i had a smooth round butt, my mum would sit me infron tof her while she was sewing and have me copy out pages upon pages of some kiddy book that had teddy bears on it. I think it was about some bear who liked blue shirts and kept stealing other people's blue shirts. This is so kiddie porn in a way. But then agian een after all that and the countless memos teachers have been telling me to pass to my mum about improvingmy handwriting... it all just went blah.

Then after O levels it was all keyboards keyboards keyboards oral oral oral oral. Thus my hadnwriting. Even now i have some difficulty holding a pen. I cant figure out how to hold it that my third finer's nail doesnt bite the middle finger.

But hey with this kind of comment...... WHO GIVES?

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Its like.. Wendy came around hading up our papers and she came to me,"I like your paraphrasing. You have a way with words."

Oh well... I'm free this friday i can show you more. HAHA

Im so happy. I mean this is my first time in poly i get remarks like this. Other times were like,"You can improve on this this this this I liek this part though." or the normal,"Uh-huh" especially during photography class.

OHHH DAMN PHOTOGRAPHY CLASS! You know i got a B+ (that's not bad really) but then i learnt that some other asshole in class who takes pictures like he's from Club Neoprint got a freaking A! A BLOODY A!!!!!!!!!! and the others who were producing better quality pictures than me on end are getting B and B+..... lame.

Last year we had to choose our elective stream; sound, or CG animation. Do i want to act like im some elite force (ever noticed that sound guys and pro-Mac users have their heads up in the clouds? not all but most of them) or cool dude with long hair in sound or the underdogs that talk softer than a fish and spend the entire week infront of the comp creating products they can NEVER touch in CG animation?

I raise my hand.... i wanna be a NERD!

CG class RAWKS! To the core and more! ok yeah so the lecturer needs some voice coaching because he trails off after some time but that's a small rectifiable problem that shouldnt get him fired or anything. You know sometimes the problem here is that students hear rumours about their lecturers which they havent met and start bombarding them with balls of sharp hairy.... balls. I always believe that a lecturer in FSV is here for some bloody reason (as is always the case when u dig in deeper to their history.) and honestly what is up with disrespecting a lecturer jsut cos he's not.... like... teaching in the style you like. Shut up and give him a chance or let him be or maybe u can go up to him and discuss with him eh? or send an anonymous email telling him this this this in a respectable manner. Young punks telling off teachers. Yeah. Go get a job in their position first. yeah. i so hate mrs. Jinglebob because she has that freaking hairdo! She should be fired! I dunno what she's doing here!

Freedom of speech of some. But i think this is abusing it. Or maybe the wrong way to pull it off. Stuff. Hey i hate some people too u noe. Like... Fiona Xie.

Our assignment for CG (aint this a long post already? But you lke to read so here you go...) is to make this cool looking robot spider.. then add textures then put it in a live scene and maybe animate it. So far we have gotten to the completion of the model and texturing will commence next week.

CG modelling is like... origami... just that you can undo creases by pressing ctrl-Z (that's the universal Undo button. Try it! Works on ALL programs!). That's how i take it. Plus there are basically NO RULES to follow in terms of what to model (for now since this aint for an anal client. Just us.) so creativity is able to expand beyond the corners of the room.

Our teacher had us load his completed model of his spider (as in..... nvm.) Then we took that as a guide.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
The starting. The right side is mine... a few minutes after making a cube.

After that he started droning into his own little Star Wars world and we lost him completely. The class were al huddled together on each own's computer and soon one of us got the idea of making the body with a cube. Pretty soon we were helping out each other. Hey i didnt see this kind of teamwork in sec school...... told Mdm Sung that huddling together in class is better than her V-Shaped class arrangement (i was cleanliness monitor once...for a short two weeks... one day i stayed behind in school and rearranged the seating arrangements. The next day the class was greeted with a nice tight U-shaped arrangemnt with a big space int he centre for Mdm Sung to stand in. I was given hell when she came in.)

Anyways after that we got into the rythm and started slicing... dicing... extruding... polugon meshing bla bla bla... telling each other the hotkeys and stuff (its not cheating. In other schools, helping each other like this, it is.). I got a bit bored at the end of the class so i took some heroin and screwed my turret.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Whee! My spider has a vase for a nose!

Next week i came back and deleted the entire setion off. Charlene and i sat togeether and all the time i was making this obscene extrusions with my turret and she.....burst.

I got this after a while.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Lol... looks like im not that good at modelling.

"You may add in any extra details if you want. Make the model yours.", said the teacher.

So i did. And it was FUN!

My classmate, this cool guy named Fredy who's reallty really really REALLYYTYYY smooth in his hip hop dancing..... probably thinks im weird.

.... okay sorry.. lame punchline. I just wanted to give him some exposure. Here's his blog at http://fredykosman.blogspot.com/

A few additional details and it was kinda done.

I so love the CG class crowd. No nice. No complains. No one is giving "that" fucking face. No one is just out there to show their intellect or "skills". It's a very nice environment and everyone's ready to help. Like Michael "B4 I was Gay" Jackson sang.... "Just call ma naime..... and i'llll be theeerrreee...."

aww that song... brings back memories. You know i sang that song for Singapore Idol auditions. :)

Btw... Ryan Ingrassia Scott, my screenwriting/storytelling lecturer cum advisor, called me to sit with him after class this morning. Ive been late like.. everyday. Normally reaching sch half an hour after class starts at 8. He looked at me.. asked what my problem was. We got that little bit settled. Then he asked in his Californian accent,"...and how was this SIngapore Idol Audition of yours?"

Oh.. my... GOD!!!!

"... there was this rumour that you were gonna join the Singapore Idol Auditions. I didnt wanna get nosey but we just saw it when you changed your hair colour like you were all dressed up to go."

Oh the hair colour? oh that's Shah's idea. (btw... spot this hot hunk of a man here at http://www.suria.sg/anugerahskrin/thenextbigthing.htm )

Wow.. the lecturers knew i was down for Singapore Idol. I. Am. So. Brave.

I got my spider completed.

with legs.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
I decided to call it Sturmspinne which means Storm Spider in German.

Why the fuck. Why the CORNY name?!

I noticed that the spider looked something like a German WW2 tank, the Sturmmtiger.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
So hence the silly name. Next was to texture this baby so im already planning how its gonna look like with references to the real Sturmmtiger and it's history.

Yeah. history. So in love.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
I added in the lighting for the turret when it fires. BOOM! yellow light.

Btw have i showed (off) to you guys my scale model?

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
This is the Sd.Kfz 222 used by the Germans in WW2 as a light armoured vehicle. Used to tranport supplies and provide light backup for infantry. And here it is in 1/35th scale! A Tamiya set bout at 25 dollars and now UP FOR SALE at The M Workshop at Sunshine Plaza, Bugis, for double the price. Please do buy. I built this thing a year ago. Profits go to me.

Im so proud that this model is on display in a well-known modelling shop as i type.

Im so proud that im gonna Photoshop the picture...

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
With contrast and over-highlights! and a nice cool cyan feel.

Wasnt that fun? Let's do it again!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
With a nice warm tone coming around the vehicle. Aww...

Another module im enjoying rite now is the Camera and Lighitng class. Basically we learn cinematography here... like how every shot has its purpose and its subliminal meaning.... and how it is pulled off. I was shocked when Mr. Andrew (no one calls anyone with the title MISTER in poly. Only me. I am so immature.) screened a scene from the Gilmore Girls. Like.. wth... my SISTER watches that. He was pointing out how in a crowd of girls in the sports hall scene, we can spot err... whats her name... lindsy lohan? or sth like that. I noe nuts about lady actors.

They all look the same.... --..--

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
This is the soundstage.. where we study Cinematography.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
And these are the rails and lights and ceiling that is oh so nice to see because i love factories and their messiness.

Then there's htis section in the school library that i so love.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
It's the Media Collection!!!!

We have ROWS AND ROWS of Cds to borrow! from boring Hip Hop to crappy Rap to cool Piano pieces to this to that to this to that...... EVERYTHING. Even self-help cds like.... How To Cook!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Told ya! And you know what i say... anywhere that has Sly in a positive light.. is my favourite place........ ok well maybe it's LIABLE to be.

Uh.... Daniel.. if you're reading this (or left cos this post is fucking long)... i have to break something to you... I am a SYLVESTER SIM fan. ..... lol.
...and i'm in his fan club's committee!... in the MEdia department! Whoopee!!!! LOL.

THey even have up-to-date posters inthe Media Collection!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Look! Kelvin Tan!

and JJ Lin!

and Kelly Pooh/Poon somewhere behind.

omg i thought JJ lin was korean in his new album. I didnt recognise him. Lol i shouldve bought that album instead of Andy Lau. Charlene said JJ Lin was super talented. I mean yeah really.... I was a Long John just now at Golden Village and they were having promotions to win free tickets to this CONCERT.

CONCERT!!

The Sly Fans are complaining that Sly doenst even have a concert yet! (oh shut up... Sly will own! One day... once he becomes and actor.. which i hope he'll be open to the idea..... :( )

and of course....

some of the odd-posters.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
arent they dead?

Ah yes.. with all these excitement in school... How can i be stressed? even if i could it would be good stress. I took the correct choice i guess. I dont like to play other people down (i really dont.) but i jsut have to tell all those in sec school.... those who took action with my decision... which was my only decision.... to enroll for FSV. They said i wouldnt make it. They said i dont have what they were looking for. They said I will be better off in the engineering stream (yeah rite. I dropped to sub science physics, hello?) but ohmigosh.... look at where i am now. I'm not committing suicide. I'm not with bad company. My teachers arent there for the very reason of nepotism. EVERYTHING IS PERFECT. JUST PERFECT. I AM KING OF THE WORLD!

but every good thing has a bad thing. I guess. My dad is still pissed that i'm in arts stream. If only he knows his son is doing well... or that media has so much more to offer than Channel 5 rush-projects.

p.s For those of you in other art courses. If you feel stressed. Then look back. Cos the only thing that should stress you up so badly is other people bringing your work down. I say, that when that happens, shoot it all back with your talent. Cos when you release that talent... so will the good juices of Honey Mountain. It gets so much fun that you entertain yourself while you work. Wow... i should be a counsellor..... NOT!

p.s. and if you say you have no talent...... sianz.... ... if liddat God wont even let you come down to earth. But you're here on earth! So what the hey?!
