I've always went around doing my duties everyday with something like a camera.
I sat down yesterday night after a whole day of sleep and chanced across some pretty cool moments from this semester.
Adeline playing the drums....
Sean, Adeline and Daryl playing with an Xbox in one of our audio studios...
And Kang Sheng looking at us playing...
i guess everyone's experience in FSV varies from one another. I know of some who think they're too good or too rich or too gay for their classmates. There are others who come with all make-up and perfumed to the inner vaginas and dress up in fruit bowls...
Among other things, sometimes you get free stuff from companies...
Wei Min was kind enuf to look for sponsorship for Adidas for our TVC.
Some things are only unique to us. One of that are productions.
I find that, unlike year 1, everyone now is eager to go to the other group production to help out.. whether its only to gaffer or be script supervisor.
Maybe it's because we've seen the films that appear from each other... maybe everyone wants a hand in the probable next successful film.
Sometimes you simply feel attracted to some of the girls that are around.
I dont know... maybe i like girls who are a bit tomboy-ish. They're much more durable...
P.s. Dont look at the girl on the right.. she's just...
The Super 16mm SRII camera. Here's Thea... the cameraperson.
Last Saturday, around 12am, Rahman, Don, Daryl and I were sitting around the middle of nowhere eating McDonald's.
We were talking as usual. We talked about family, work, our dreams and hopes.... and of course the advices and lectures that has me in the centre of attraction.
Don Aravind...
It's kind of mesmerizing to hear what others talk about you or your friends. I heard all the gossips that were being thrown around by people who dont even know the head or tail of the subject.
The four of us are in the same IBP group.. and after a little blunder i made with the treatment, the news started spreading and people thought we were doomed to failure. I didnt get quite a few things that were spreading around. But Don knew all and so i asked. He answered and it was then that i noticed the impact it had with us as a group.
We started off as the most complete group. We had one of the best, heartwarming story ideas among the rest and Michael Kam, our advisor, is pretty cool. Some were envious of us, to be honest.
But then news started spreading about what the group was doing.. our attitude... and then my script came in and threw everything to hell.
Daryl got really pissed with me and I avoided him for a few days because I was honestly scared shitless. That night he lashed it out onto the floor and i had to sit infront of them, nibbling on my chicken foldover, trying to keep my mind straight. it's not that i'm embrassed of myself... I'm embrassed because I let a friend down.. it's because i didnt live up to his expectations.
We got things cleared after that.
For once, in a long time, that feeling where u spend a whole night alone with a few friends during those school camps, returned. It was soothing. Rahman started laughing at our situation and the way we were talking and gave each of us positions like section commander, platoon commander and sergeants.
After that, that's how we addressed each other. When we were clearing up Kang Sheng's shoot around 2am later, Don started shouting commands, feigning lectures to his junior Rahman and Daryl came running back when we shouted "Fall In".
Don said it doesnt matter if we were the underdogs. Even if we were like those really pathetic kids that dont seem to have anywhere to go. Don said it's better that way... to be in the bad eye of the public then coming up with such a fantastic story with good visuals....
The morning earlier only the four of us were around in Don's production plus Tang Wei. It was pretty quiet... Don was directing, Rahman was camera operator, I was 1st Assistant cameraperson and Daryl was Assistant Director. For once, I felt, we were working together on a production, proper.
And i felt like it was perfect.
