Before i start, i just wnna say that that funny feeling is still lngering around. And it just got stronger today. The other day my father drove the family to Changi after he touched down at the airport (lolz i can imagine him tip-toeing on one leg and saying,"Touched down!" ). I noe Changi village.... lots of hawker stalls.... lots of cats... old buildings planes... old changi hospital... wei shan and i had our time there...... Anyways i stepped out of the car and the moment i took a deep breath of Changi air, my other senses kicked in; something's waaaatttcchiiiiinnnnggggg ......

ooo....

okay better watchout for things.. 7th month is here....

Anyways i have a Social Psychology project due. Eh no wait... it's a journal really... zz... but then.. there's the option of creative entry. :)

lolz i chose creative entries cos i thought maybe i shld break away from writing for a while. Basically creative entries are those little artifacts that represent somehting abt the topic discussed.

Our topic is something (i dun have the paper with me now...) about how our gender affects the way ppl perceive us.. emotinally.. mentally.. and stuff. lolz everytime i think f gender.. i think of a dick and boobs. Lolz.. when "male" appears, i tend to say it on my mind as "meh-llllllllll".... with the vibrating tongue on L.... kinda represents the dick swishing here and there.. LOLZ!!!

anyways yeah i thought of making a diorama for this one. It's been a long time since i modelled. Bernard in M Workshop sure hasnt been hearing from me since. Gulp... i pang seh his shop.. -.-.....

Anyways.. oo yeah.. story time....

France, Autumn of 1942. The Germans are pushing forward relentlessly and the French army is desperately fighting back for their soil with ill-armoured Hotchkiss tanks and penny pockets of infantry. A german infantry column rushes bravely forward along a dirt track, evading French gunfire. A hotchkiss tank lies abandoned by the roadside. Black smoke rises up the the distant fields. The day is bright, the leaves are brown and plenty. Amidst all the chaos, a German soldier stands by the dirt track, a spade in one hand, his rifle in the other. He looks forlongingly at something. The other soldiers rush behind him. He doesnt care. He cant. Infront of him lays a freshly covered grave. At the head of the grave, a pole is poked into the ground and a German helmet balances on its tip. The German soldier tries not to cry. He shouldnt. No one must see him do so. that's the way he was brought up; to be a man. No matter how painful it is to bury the corpse of your own dead friend, a man musn't cry, he thought.

But on the other side of the hotchkiss, sitting under a tree with golden leaves, a German soldier sits on the ground, his face buried in his knees. His helmet and rifle lay clumsily by his side. He is crying. Nothing more but a young boy, a part of the Hitler Jugend (Hitler's Youth) regiment, he looks up; he looks exactly like the previous German soldier, only with a more boyish look. He cries wholeheartedly for his dead friend, in this little dark corner of the world, privacy only provided by an old tree and a thin wall of armour.

The End.

Deep? boo... anwyays.. metaphorically, guys do have emotional sides too (you know!) .... i mean... duh.. just look at me... i get so pissed when Vis does this and that. oh yeah... i thnk we're ok now.... he's replying... im smsing... i'm still joking... he''s not... i arrange for a meeting.... he has sth on... oh dear.... :)

ANYWAYS.....

i got this idea straight out when i realised the possibility of doing a creative entry. I drew out sketches immediately and continued to expand the possibilities and let the idea mature.

Some rough sketches i made.

I originally had the idea of putting the grave on a super-lower ground. Then the tank is there as a shield between the man-soldier and boy-soldier (lolz...). the tree is there originally to add height and capture a person's attention to the diorama but hey! everything on a dio should have a purpose! And thus the story is born. :)

I slept with the idea.. named it (for now) Die Gefühle (The Emotions). i have this passion for giving names such as those.... even though it is downright unsuitable at times. pfft... then as the i dea grew.. i bought the display from Sunshine plaza, the gundam shop.... (M Workshop was closed that time...) for SGD 18.00 and as i positioned the tank here and there.... i found out that i had VERY LITTLE SPACE.... so i thought maybe put the tree.... tank... then man.... witht he display facing the viewer in the landscape...view... -.- okay.

Didnt work out.. i had plenty of empty spaces here and there and no matter how hard i tried i.e. adding extra material such as fuel drums or boxes or vegitation, the dio still didnt look right. So i SCRAPED the project.... at first.

Went for dinner... played some games and shot some terrorists... and while the game was loading, i looked at the mess i made on the table and LO AND BEHOLD!!!! the tank, tree and display was positioned in such a perfect manner!

well at least.. it was better than before. This time it wasnt "landscape format"...

that's wht i saw. Look! i even drew a sketch! With perspective! see the horizon and the vanishing point?

And in comes the man... That's a stand-in btw.. i havent bought the figure i wanted to use yet.

Then comes in the actual planning...

See how big it is? So small... and i gotta paint that!

And thus i start building my dio project. First up was to border the sides with styrofoam so that the groundwork coming up after that would be straight. (not gay).

Then comes in the white glue and a board of hardpaper and a couple of dumbells to add wieght tot he board so that it conforms to the contours placed by the styrofoam underneath. The dumbells amazingly fit perfectly amazing. -.-

Ah yes.. that's enuf for the night.. now for the glue to dry completely and then groundwork can be put on. Have to go down to Art Friend tml or sth to get some balsa wood for the dio.

And that leaves me to clean my table.

I'm super-anxious o get this project done. That Hotchkiss tank has been waiting for sth to be done on it ever since i put on the French logo decal on it WAYYYY before poly started.

Ahh yes... my Hotchkiss... you will be getting a new life soon... muacks..

though u may be a bit uglier than the Type 97 Chi Ha but nevertheless...

Anyways if this project cant work... i'm going for my back up plan... a VIDEO.... hmm... maybe a story on how a friend fought with his buddy and now he gets so upset he becomes delusioned because he is not supposed to tell anyone how he feels for another person of the same sex even though they may be, to put it plainly, friends?

:)
