The Type 97 Chi Ha is, to me, one of my loveliest models. Surely it cant compare to what people out there consider "good" but nevertheless, it is unique and something i am proud of as it was built from my own to hands and my imagination.

A year or so after its completion, i went down to Specialist's Shopping Centre in Somerset to look for kits. What type of kits? well... i wasnt sure. just some kit. if it looks interesting then ill buy it.

By luck... i found this WW2 Japanese tank; the Ho Ni.

Something looked familiar about it. Upon closer inspection... i found that the hull was the in fact, the Chi Ha hull. This was interesting. And thus, began my journey to Japan again.

So far, the basic painting is done. now is just on to wheathering.

Okay now as we all should know, modelling is a very expensive and labourous hobby. Some models need a very very long time (for example, a month or four) to complete. That is why we get very irritated when someone who asks us to build his model, rushes us. *winks at Manas*

I only have one airbrush and plenty of paint. Now i have to clean up the thing eveyrtime i am going to paint a new colour or coating; you do not want contamination in modellling.

Anyways, remember that time i bought those isopropyl and denatured alcohol?

Well it worked perfectly! The paint was much smoother and silky; i could get an even finish. It also dries faster than the Tamiya thinner and does not smell as bad. Besides, its cheap. Half the price of the tamiya one.

I believe that any of the things which are meant for modelling can be substituted with much cheaper, more common items that can be bought in supermarkets. So those of you who are still not looking for cheaper ways to model, it's time you do.
