wow... a quick look at my blog stats and everything is wonky. They look like they represent the upsides and downsides of emotion on someone's face after they have been sentenced to death by sexual intercourse....... with five thousand women non-stop. Smile frown smile frown smile frown cant decide.
These few days ive been burying myself in the wonders of Charlie Chaplin (another hero of mine from my childhood) and storytelling.
Im telling you, what is up with all the role models i choose?!
I seem to be so twisted in my head that I think its worse than a girl going through puberty. You know how twisted some of their minds can get rite? Just today these girls were making such a big fuss that they saw some guy's crack. Like..."ohmigosh i saw his crack!". "You serious?! As in... HIS... crack? A guy???"
wow when i was young i saw a lot of cracks since i was so short. And now even when im much taller i see MORE cracks than before.... cos u noe im in poly and they sell mini-skirts and low-low-cut jeans...........
... for guys ( joking.)
So i noticed that my "heroes" were:
- Always of great importance.
- People study them.
- Lived when black and white rawks or during the turn of the 20th Century.
- Great interest and unique talent in classical music.
- Had troubled childhoods.
- Their life plunged to hell after their glory days.
So let's review....
Adolf Hitler:
- Wandered around Vienna as a CMI artist (he drew buildings...).
- People called him weird cos he had seemingly stupid ideas and idealogy.
- Hatred for Jews was amplified from his childhood.
Then after his glory days:
- Bit on a cyanide pill and shot himself in Berlin.
actually even before that he was alreayd deteriorating with parkinson's disease.... and other psychological matters. He loved young women, always wore a white pajamas (the warm kind that hugs the body) beneath everything he wore and he always had someone play classical pieces for him on the piano and donated motherlodes to the Art Museum in Berlin (or Vienna...).
and yeah he was very animated when he listened to the piano. And we all know how ppl get when they get interrupted while listening to classical music. Just ask my sister. Her small thuds on my door ( i can barely hear them, btw) can make my blood spurt and send me to the moon.
Then there was Bugs Bunny:
- Abandoned bunny.
- He was made in a dire effort by Warner Bros. to compete with big-balled rich-arse Walt Disney in the 1940s....
- He dances. He imitates. He sings. He plays insturments. He does ballet. By today's standards, if you have a dick and you do ballet... no no no BIG NO.
Actually i find that once u indulge yourself in art people just look at you differently these days. i see those in painting courses and i go,"What were you thinking?!"
After Bugs' glory days....
- He got turned into a Hollywood star. Thus began exploitation.
- Exploited by people who replaced the original creators. E.g. Space Jam. new voice talents. New stories..... and the ever irritating Baby Bugs.
- Bugs and the Looney Tunes pretty much died after Mel Blanc the voice guy passed away. After that all the stories went down the drain. I just felt that they were empty.
And Charles Chaplin:
- Grew in South London..... in slums. 1890s
- Mum was mentally ill, father died early. Parents were in vaudeville. Meaning they were performers for something of a lower standard than a circus. (i was explained to as such)
- Had two half-brothers. One went bye bye only to be found after they were old and wrinkled.
- Migrated to America when he was a young teen.
After his glory days:
- Accused of being a communist after voicing out when America opened a second front in Russia. His old movies.. even those that have been alived since the 1916s (The Immigrant), has been cited of his communist agendas. Charlie denied.
- Married and remarried many times to women half his age... one was still going through puberty. I think he did this four times. Neither lasted long... only the last one which lasted 37 years...to his death.
- 11 children. God knows where most of them are now.
- Exiled out of America by the FBI for the communist thingy. Cant return to the land he immigrated to (what an irony).
Ah yes.. so there..... some of my heroes. Monotonous (in colour), largely forgotten by my friends and those surrounding them, and they were all pretty much artists. Artists in film, drawing, arts.... and this just proves one thing.
Be an artist and society labels you crazy.
Dont you think it holds some water?
I mean people keep calling everyone in our course, including teachers, air-heads.
