For the uninitiated (then suddenly i get many hate mails...)... I just stripped the paint off the Chi Ha down to the bare plastic. The original plastic wasnt that colour. Now I see how strong this cleaners are....

Im doing a rework of the Type 97 Chi Ha (To ease my guilt for giving the tank that saw terror occupying Singapore during World War Two a bad paintjob). Ive glued the hulls together.. took away the crown that was originally there... and soon illl be putting on mud for texture. The priming it and so on and so forth. Good thing is that u guys can see the thing change from plastic to an artpiece.

and the Sherman dio? scrapped it too. i turned over the base... took out the glass underneath it that was supporting the styrofoam.... poured lacquer thinner all over the styrofoam and just proceeded to remove the jelly substance that was left.there.. another clean photoframe for a base. Ive already put on the black cardboard on it and superglued it down to the frame to act as the platform for the dio. This will be for the Chi Ha... as originally intended.

Ive managed to get some original war footages (video) of Singapore during WWII and yes... the Type 97 were indeed used extensively and there was a scene where they showed lines and lines of Type 97s rolling infront of Sir STamford Raffles' statue in City Hall. They even passed by the Court thingy!! And another thing..... The type 97 showed did NOT have the camouflage scheme shown on the Tamiya instruction manual. Type 97s used in Singapore were infact.. a dark green with patches of lighter green on it! instead of the brown, khaki and green camouflage pattern and yellow curvy lines that divided the tank into 4 parts. This sure helps... cos i cant do camouflage yet. whee!!...

Ive fixed up all my figures available too... gonna do some touch up and then give all these figs a coat of primer...

Those are machineguns right front. On the left is the American .50 calibre MG... the one which could rip a hole into a man and on the right is a Russian DP mg. It held 47 rounds in its drum magazine..
